A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SOUS CHEF AT THE IMPERIAL HOTEL BLACKPOOL

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Head Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following:

  • Create unique and delicious dishes for our guests.
  • Assisting the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen brigade adhere to quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Working alongside the Head Chef to continuously review our menu choice for hotel guests and develop new dishes, using seasonal produce where possible.
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure we source quality goods and food products at the best available pricing.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and ordering stock as required.
  • Ensuring that the kitchen brigade comply to current health & safety, food safety and fire regulations and maintain up to date training records (including online learning).

To succeed in the role of Sous Chef, you will need the following qualities and skills:

  • A natural passion and flair for producing great food, presented well!
  • The ability to consistently perform well in a high-pressure and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills to ensure the smooth running of the hotel's kitchens.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the kitchen brigade in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Proven track record as a Sous Chef in a similar establishment.
