Best place for life in Scotland 2022: Isle of Bute tops the list
Monday, April 11, 2022
A west coast island, just 90 minutes from central Glasgow, has been named Scotland's best place to live by an international jury.
The comprehensive guide comprising 70 venues has been released online today with a revised version appearing in the newspaper on Sunday. Dunblane and Shawlands rounded out the top five, with Ilkley, in West Yorkshire, named as a top overall winner in Britain.
Isle of Bute, Argyll (Winner, new): Situated only 90 minutes away from Glasgow, Bute, above all Scottish islands, has become synonymous with interchangeability.
The average house price for each site has been provided by Halifax, the guide's sponsor, and the breaking news of broadband speeds is provided by Thinkbroadband.com, the UK's leading independent broadband guide.
At Shawlands, the judges also labeled the South Side of the area 'both practical and cool'.
