Hilton Food Group announces new boss as profits slump during the year

Thursday, April 6, 2023

Hilton Food Group plc reported Wednesday that annual revenue for the Cambridgeshire-based food packaging company rose, despite diminishing profit, and announced the appointment of a CEO appointment.

Hilton Food Group disclosed the Huntingdon-based company after profits plummeted following heavy challenges in the grocery packaging company's UK fish operations.

Much of that growth was driven by recently acquired smoked salmon production company Foppen, vegetable food maker Dalco and meat supply company Fairfax Meadow.

Addition costs have been generated by insurance and legal costs associated with a fire at Hilton's Belgium operation in June 2021, higher interest rates, and restructuring measures that led to employee layoffs.
