Hotel Chocolat expands in Yorkshire after strong demand for luxury chocolate

Demand is so strong for Hotel Chocolat's luxury chocolates from Yorkshire that the company has moved into a brand new store in Harrogate, four times its size.

Angus Thirlwell, Co-Founder and CEO, said: "These results demonstrate that the Hotel Chocolat brand is connecting with more customers, as we invest continually in new product creativity, driving growth across channels and categories, and in our "gentle farming Sales in the US skyrocketed 128%, while the customer base grew by 119%.

Hotel Chocolat said the database has risen 1000% to over 100.000 active clients since the introduction of the VIP loyalty program 14 months ago in Japan.

The self-proclaimed chocolatier said like-for-like sales up 37% year on year and 63% higher in the 13 weeks to Boxing Day, the second quarter of the group's financial year.

In a trading update published today the UK chocan said business in the US had risen by 128 per cent and a joint venture in Japan showed 131 per cent growth.
