The new hotel will follow the example of Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport and is the second Dalata Hotel Group hotel in the area.

Next month Dalata, which owns Maldron Hotels, will open the Maldron Hotel Manchester Centre, located next to the Clayton hotel.

The main contractor for the development was Russell WBHO commissioned by Property Alliance Group.

The site, a former 12-storey office building that was torn down in the £45 million project Dermot Crowley, CEO of Dalata Hotel Group, commented:

"This is the first of six new hotels that we are opening in the first half of this year. Four of these hotels are in the UK. We have four further properties in our UK hotel pipeline, showing our continued commitment to our UK expansion strategy.
