Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver said trusting his instincts to get back into the UK restaurant industry was 'the right thing to do', as he is not entirely happy or finished without the establishment
Oliver, 48, recently announced plans to reopen a restaurant in London's Catherine Street in November, having abandoned his restaurant empire which included Jamie's Italian, Barbecoa and Fifteen in May 2019.
Oliver, 2022, still runs franchised eateries across the globe, including Dubai and Saudi Arabia, and Jamie's Deli in Europe, but said his only new outlet in London would be a pop up in Soho.
Cook-turned-television personality Oliver, who has starred in some TV shows including The Naked Chef, which aired in 1999, told You Magazine of plans to open his first new restaurant, located in a Grade I listed building in London's Covent Garden.
Oliver said "yes of course" to being asked if he wished he had changed things during Jamie's Italian reign.
It comes after Oliver's companies made higher profits after helping households get £1 in hand during the living wage crunch.
Oliver's empire, which includes TV programmes, recipe books, branded items and partnerships and restaurants abroad, made a pre-tax profit of £7.7million this year, 17.5 per cent higher than the same quarter a year earlier.
Oliver is next seen as he embarks on a new culinary journey through Greece, Tunisia, Spain and France for a new four parts Channel 4 series Jamie Cook's The Mediterranean.
