London contributing to overall growth for Irish hotel group Dalata

Wednesday, August 30, 2023

Irish hotel group Dalata says its growing London portfolio fuelled growth in Britain in the second quarter as it announced plans to expand its footprint in the capital.

The owner of the hotel brands Clayton and Maldron posted a 23% rise in comparable income per available room in London, compared to 12% at other UK businesses.

This was partly fuelled by both increased occupancy and higher room prices as London's locations lagged the way they did immediately after the pandemic.

Dalata has recently put its focus on London and has already opened two hotels in the capital this year; a second is opening next spring, the Maldron Shoreditch.

Consolidated profit has therefore increased by 24% to €103.4 million (88.6 million pounds), including €26.9 million of UK income.
