MasterChef host Gregg Wallace says tinned vegetables help against shortage

MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace urged people to use tinned or frozen vegetables to combat food scarcity, after earning an MBE
MasterChef's Gregg Wallace has been awarded his MBE for services to food and charity as he touched down in Windsor Castle, with his wife Anne-Marie.
Born in Peckham, South East London, Wallace sold vegetables on a council estate before going on to launch Gregg's own fruit and vegetable market in Covent Garden.
Wallace founded George Allan's Greengrocers in 1989 and has a successful career in broadcasting where he has presented numerous programmes such as Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4, Saturday Kitchen, Eat Well For Less, Inside The Factory, Turn Back Time, Harvest and
Supermarket Secrets.
Asked about vegetable shortages Gregg said: 'It made me consider canned, frozen vegetables.
Former culture secretary Sir John Whittingdale, the Conservative MP for Maldon, has been promised a knighthood for political and public services.
If Pasta, Couscous, and Rice can be cooked with vegetables, he added,"" then a whole world of calories on five continents has just opened up for you."
John is also a restaurateur and has been the owner of The Luxe restaurant.
