Michelin Guide 2023: Alex Dilling wins two awards at hotel Café Royal

The restaurant was one of the three to be awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide to the UK & Ireland 2023 at a ceremony at the Silverstone Circuit in Norfolk this evening (27 March)

Four other restaurants earned a Michelin Star, acknowledging those at the forefront of sustainable practices in the industry.

Twenty-Two in Cambridge also won a star, along with The Tudor Pass in Egham, Grace & Savour in the West Midlands and Ben Wilkinson in The Pass in Horsham.

At Cheltenham, Jon and Helen Howe's Lumière won a Michelin star too.

Cumbria is the county with the most new stars (three stars) whereas Edinburgh is the leading city in terms of new restaurants (four new one stars) and two new one .

One of the first to be awarded this year's Michelin star award is Store in Norfolk, which has only five tables and offers a multi-course tasting menu.

In Lancashire cook Tim Allen went home with a Michelin star for his first solo restaurant called Sōlō while his second restaurant Solstice in Newcastle was awarded its first star, too.
