Another indoor market spanning more than a century, is to be converted into a 10.000 square meter food and beverage market providing 80 new jobs.

The city centre Ormskirk is scheduled to host its own food and drinks market in autumn.

The two storey block of land on Moorgate was opened in 1903 as the home of Hesford's DIY & Gardening.

Simon, whose epic brand is known for its successful establishments in and around Liverpool town centre, said: "We've been dreaming about doing this for many years. We want to reimagine this historic space with a modern concept that can thrive while emulating the success of similar sites in other UK market towns.

The Ormskirk food and drink market will not only contribute to the local economy but will also create up to 80 new employment opportunities.

Fiona continued: "Many other people from this domain have to go to Liverpool if they need food, drink and entertainment on this scale, but that may no longer be the case. The Ormskirk food and beverage market will offer a taste of the city center." as well as the restaurants and bars in the area that are much closer to home.

And it's building on the growing popularity of food and beverage markets in the Liverpool urban area.

As part of its ongoing efforts to find budding local businesses, Ormskirk Food and Drink Market is seeking traders to move into its new premises - from established restaurateurs to up-and-coming professionals in the food and beverage industries.
