A US Fried Chicken chain is looking to build a £30million drive-thru facility in Nottingham
Popeyes ® already operates a facility on Upper Parliament Street in central Nottingham, and is planning its presence throughout the city at Teal Park.
The new restaurant opening will be in Teal Park on the A612 Colwick Loop Road between the Netherlands and Stoke Bardolph, created in association with AC Lloyd Commercial (ACL) out of Warwickshire and Henry Davidson Developments (HDD) out of Nottingham.
They exchanged contracts with Popeyes ® for the 2.500-square-foot facility which will feature a 65-seat, self service, parking and parking sections.
In the meantime, an application to build will be prepared and if the planning application is successful the conversion of the property to a new Popeyes site could be commenced later this year.
A hundred jobs will be created when it starts in the spring of 2024.
Mark Edwards, the managing director of AC Lloyd Commercial, added: 'Popeyes has continued to grow in popularity across the UK since it opened its first branch in London in 2021. They are starting the next stage of their growth plans by introducing drive-thru
restaurants and, providing planning is approved, this will become among their first in the UK.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes UK CEO said: "The sustained turnout we are seeing for Popeyes is incredible, it is wonderful to see how enthusiastically the UK has welcomed us and we are proud to open our first self-service locations. this year After the good fortune of our
Upper Parliament Street restaurant that landed in the fall of 2022, opened a local self-service an apparent option for us. We look forward to expanding our offering in Nottingham.
