The acquisition is the latest in an array of acquisitions including two venues in Berkeley Inns, Site I in the New Forest and two properties in Norfolk

By acquiring the Mooreland Hotel, Jamaica Inn and Swan Hotel, the Coaching Inn Group continues their recent run of high quality acquisitions and expands its portfolio including Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

Three locations include the Mooreland Hotel in Dartmoor, Devon; the Swan Hotel in Wells, Somerset; and the iconic Jamaica Inn in Launceston, Cornwall.

The hotel has seen many celebrities visit the castle and one is Agatha Christie, who wrote the first novel in a two week journey to the hotel.

The sale was brokered by Knight Frank on its behalf.

The Swan is a four-star boutique hotel overlooking Wells Cathedral.

Regarded as Britain's oldest permanent trading hotel, this four-star boutique hotel welcomed its first guests over 600 years ago, attracting more than 100.000 people every year and has enjoyed a superb location.

The hotel has recently been awarded investment to renovate and broaden its 50 rooms, suites and apartments, where it remains in accordance with its original charming charm.
