Viral cook Salt Bae's London restaurant has made a profit of £2.6 million in just three months, as celebrity patrons gorged on expensive dishes like 24carat gold-plated steak.
The Kitchen Nightmare landowners "restaurant empire made a £6.9million loss for the 12 months to the end of August last last year.
Nusr-Et Steakhouse is the invention of Salt Bae, an extravagant Turkish butcher who opened a string of restaurants after becoming notorious on social media.
The chain 's London outpost Salt Bae, which the Observer 's critic Jay Rayner calls a 'ridiculous restaurant, charges more than £600 for a vast tomahawk steak and £40 for a burger, with the cheapest item on the menu, a herbal fries for just £9.
Salt Bae's empire, which includes sites in New York, Dubai and Istanbul, drew in celebrity fans including Leonardo DiCaprio, David Beckham and rapper Snoop Dogg.
Turkish conglomerate Doğuş Group advertises waiting jobs of well over £15 per hour plus tips, but this still falls short of the cost of a plate of baklava as dessert in the restaurant.
The Group also owns Saltbae burger chain and Cafe di Dolce confectionery.
