Scotland's exports abroad stand at £8.1billion by 2022, according to HMRC's regional trade figures

Excluding oil and gas, the value of Scottish exports rose 20.5 per cent year over year until 2022.

Agricultural Secretary Mairi Gougeon welcomed the record figures showing that exporting foodstuffs and alcove drinks up 30.6 percent from a year ago.

Food exports themselves also hit an all-time high of £1.9billion in 2022, which represents a 13.8 per cent increase.

For the whole of the UK, the rise has amounted to simply 13.3% in the value of exports.

The data also revealed the EU market for Scotland's trade was worth £9.4billion

Fresh, whole Scottish salmon has made £578m of revenue, it says - 6% less than the £44.3m it had received by 2021.
