Westminster scheme to tackle hospitality staffing shortages in capital
Tuesday, October 11, 2022
The Westminster Works programme was developed by more than 100 hotel and leisure leaders and aims to fill at least 2.200 vacancies at hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafes, clubs, casinos and other appropriate venues across Westminster by March 2024.
The idea is to move away from the need for CVs for trials within the practice and on the market.
Free of charge and open to all hospitality and leisure businesses at Westminster, all attending employers are required to sign a Westminster Works commitment defining clear commitments to be made with the recruitment of future employment for the site on three pillars: respect, reward and progression.
Apart from ensuring free job vacancies are available to all Westminster Works corporations in Westminster and beyond, the service will also continue to focus on luring those who are currently out of the employment pool such as early retirees, parents, carers, people with learning difficulties, and former offenders.
