Tim Martin, chief executive of pub operator Wetherspoon, has written to all MPs-see letter below-denouncing the government's poor decision-making over its Covid 19 policy.
JD Wetherspoon boss Tim Martin has slammed the Government for "reckless decisions" over its Covid 19 restaurant policy.
In a letter to UK MP Martin, he said it was "a fallacy" for pubs to reopen on Wednesday 2 December, adding that this is the first time in history that the government has shut practically all of the pubs in Britain.
A pub licence, unlike a restaurant licence, enables beer, wine and spirits to be sold 'out on the premises' without a meal at the table- now banned.
Toby Perkins - the Labour MP for Chesterfield - said:"It's not entirely clear if you had a sausage roll with a bowl of chips, would that be substantial? I'm not clear on that.
